Crystal Hill Pennington was elected Mayor in 2006. She won by four votes. From the start she neglects the duties of her office, and she did with the help of Gold Bar's city clerk Laura Kelly.
While mayor, Crystal Hill Pennington used the city's resources like they were her own. The first time I noticed such behavior was in a city council meeting, Crystal Hill Pennington ordered our city clerk to get up during a council meeting and go check on her children in the next room. Crystal Hill Pennington's children were fighting with one another and were left unsupervised. Instead of finding a babysitter, Crystal Hill Pennington's ordered Gold Bar's city clerk to get up and go check on her children. As a person who believes that children should NOT be brought to work, and most certainly should not be left unsupervised, I sent Hill a letter asking her to find a babysitter next time, and I reminded her that using our city clerk for her own personal gain was unlawful use of city resources.
After receiving a nasty go ____ response to a legitimate request, I began to look at Crystal Hill Pennington a little closer.
In November 2008, Crystal Hill Pennington and the 2009 Gold Bar city council met behind closed door, made a decision to pay off a former employee who tampered with the City's wells. Crystal Hill Pennington never reported the tampering of the City's wells to law enforcement.
This failure on Crystal Hill Pennington's part lead to a simple public records request seeking all emails and documents regarding Marjerle. And had the city complied, this might have been the end to a very simple request. But instead, Crystal Hill Pennington, her new lover John Pennington and Lonn Turner decided that the best way to handle the public records request was to find up as much dirt on the requester in an attempt to force the public records requester to withdraw her lawsuit seeking access to public records.
Over the last three years we've read thousands of email records which confirm that Crystal Hill and Sno Co Director were emailing "mug shots."
Since 2008, Crystal Hill Pennington has refused to turn over public records in violation of Washington State law. The City of Gold Bar recently released public records which documents that Crystal Hill was writing Sno Co Director of Emergency Management's motions and his appeals brief. This documents that Crystal Hill was practicing law without a license.
Further research on Hill documents that she was fired from two law firms in Monroe WA, because the attorneys awere uncomfortable that was going too far - practicing law without a license.
Two words that describe Crystal Hill Pennington: liar and deceptive.

You are aware that Mayor Hill does not reside within the city of Gold Bar; yes/no? This means she is not qualified to hold office within Gold Bar.
Her sister and her sisters wife live in the house on first street that she (Mayor Hill) is supposedly buying, while Mayor Hill resides with her Boy Friend John Pennington (snohomish county emergency managment director) out in Duvall.
Did you notice that the credit card charges for the gasoline originated in Duvall? Do you really buy the claim that the employee made the gas charges? Try again, consider the Mayor herself as the culprit in making the gas charges while living in Duvall.
She found a patsy to pin the blame on, got nailed and offered a deal to keep it under wraps.
There's far more than this to be known.
If this is true, we shall see the details in her Blackberry, shortly. As you may know, Crystal Hill's Blackberry is subject to Washington State's Public Records' Act and is now part of a lawsuit against the City of Gold Bar.
According to many sources, there's many items on her Blackberry that the Everett Herald will sooon have, including some pretty pictures of her.
Ms. Hill, a mother of two children, started dating John Pennington when he was still married to his 2nd wife who was pregant at that time.
John Pennington was also dating 2 women (married one of them) when he was separated to his 1st wife.
Having said that, do we really want these people to lead our life?
It is time that the citizens of Gold Bar put the myth of Crystal Hill to bed. Time and time again I have heard someone say "she is so smart". Well, if she was actually intelligent, she would have resigned from her office when she lost her first house. Now she has lost two houses and is on the cusp of homelessness. If she were as smart as her myth holds, she would be an actual attorney not just a paralegal. And what is a paralegal? It turns out that anyone can call them self a paralegal. There seem to be no set requirements. You and I could print up business cards tomorrow. Like Mayor Hill, we may not get enough work to live on, but we would have a cool title.
She can rattle off RCWs and seems to quote laws. But if you actually watch, it is an exercise of memorization and misinterpretation. She can recite some laws word for word. But she has not demonstrated that she understands them. She mis interprets case law and misleads those that listen. Now it seems that some convoluted personal affairs with a city worker is dragging us all down with her poor judgement. None of this is evidence of a smart woman.
Now we have some kind of a game going on. A fake address in Gold Bar. She has not actually lived in Gold Bar for a year now. She used to visit her alleged house once a week, then every other week, then once a month. Now, her house is a lonely shell. An empty shell playing a farce, kind of like Ms. Hill herself.
Gold Bar citizens send to to bed and take away her TV privedge, her access to our money and attorneys, and the damage to our legacy. She always made it quite clear that none of us were up to her high standards. Now I see why people down the valley roll their eyes when I say Gold Bar. Thanks Crystal, I am speechless.
Crystal is well respected in the law community, among friends, family and Gold Bar residence. She is a single mother of two who is serious about learning the law and helping the town she loves. I have known Crystal since 2005. I respect her integrity and work ethic. I understand that in a small town small pettiness will sometimes come in to play and I hope that it is regarded as such. The office of Mayer of Gold Bar comes with no monetary benefits it is very close to being a volunteer position. Crystal has no ulterior motives for her service, her goal is simply to take care of the community she finds worthwhile. While her personal life is being scrutinized, she stays on task at work, declining to participate in the mud fight.
Hill is respected in the legal community? Yeah right. She was fired from Kennedy Law Firm in Monroe; she used mark Weiss's computer system to disseminate and hide Gold Bar public records, and she unlawfully charged thousands of the city's resources without city clerk's and/or council approval.
If Crystal Hill is respected for unlawful activity in the legal community, that does not say much for the legal community.
Anne, isn't it enough that apparently you know everything you're trying to get documentation on? Isn't that enough to appease your salacious appetite for small town small mind drama? Enough is enough. If the other 1997 citizens of GoldBar can let the past mayor's apparent discretions go, why can't you?
Because she didn't appreciate your email lecturing her on childcare and get lack thereof during a council meeting? LET IT GO. Find a cause worthy of your attention and relentlessness. Your can do better than draining the funds of a small town that my great grandfather helped build... If I can accept and move forward as someone that has loved and lived in GoldBar for over 20 years, why can't you?
